Columbia River: BladeLOCK 2 - Partially Serrated Edge
Item: CRKT-4112

Status:  Discontinued, no longer available.

Product Description:
Following on the success of Michael Walker's original BladeLOCK models, we began to get requests for the same lock in a lighter every day carry folder. Michael soon had an answer in the BladeLOCK 2. It operates the same as the original BladeLOCK: To open, press the thumb stud and pivot the blade out until it locks in place. To close, press the thumb stud and rotate the blade into the handle. Snap! The blade is locked closed, with no chance of opening when carried in a pocket.

Like all of Michael's work, the BladeLOCK 2 is a striking design, with perfect heft and balance. He says simply, 'In my work, form follows function.'

The BladeLOCK 2 features a satin finish Walker Drop Point blade of AUS 6M stainless steel for precision cutting. The blade pivots on special phosphorous bronze bearings. Blades are available with Razor-Sharp or Combination Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges. Friction grooves at the base of the blade curve and thumb ramp reduce slipping, and also can aid in one hand closure of the blade.

Designed to be light and compact, the open design 420J2 bead blast stainless steel frame is enveloped by the contoured custom molded Zytel® scales. Typical Michael Walker touches include the opposing concentric circle pattern to enhance grip. Torx® fasteners are used throughout.

The knurled and drilled polished stainless steel lock covers are also typical of Michael's custom designs, and help these special knives stand out from the crowd.

When folded, the BladeLOCK 2 assumes an oval shape that is very carry friendly. It is a knife that is light, perfectly balanced, and small enough to be unobtrusive, yet large enough to tackle serious work tasks.

The custom Teflon® plated stainless steel clothing/gear clip is removable.

We believe that our BladeLOCK models move the standard for folding knives up a notch-in terms of design, quality and value.

About Columbia River
Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT) is a Wilsonville, Oregon-based manufacturer of quality knives and tools founded in 1994. The Columbia River Knife catalog has grown and is divided into two categories, Sport and Work Knives, intended for the general public; and Professional Knives, designed for the military, law enforcement, fire department, search and rescue and other emergency services personnel. Founders, Rod Bremer and Paul Gillespie commented on the Columbia River Knife & Tool's rapid growth in the highly competitive cutlery industry: "We began with the vision of offering top quality knives at affordable prices to give the highest possible value," said Gillespie. Fortunately, because we were starting with a blank sheet of paper, we could make the new designs we wanted from the optimum materials, using the latest high tech manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, injection molding and fine blanking. Before packing and shipping each Columbia River Knife & Tool knife, it is inspected for defects in materials and workmanship, the lock and cutting edge are checked, it is opened and closed to assure smoothness of action, and it is lubricated and adjusted if needed. All Columbia River Knife & Tool knives are built incorporating the most advanced equipment and production systems available, and quality is controlled from beginning to end. Knives are built the way they should be built without compromising quality in any part of their creation. Columbia River Knife & Tool accessories are crafted to the same standards as the knives, so that each sheath, for example, lives up to the customers high expectations.
