Columbia River: Carson F4 Neck Knife - Plain Edge
Item: CRKT-F402

Status:  Discontinued, no longer available.

Product Description:
Custom knifemaker and Knifemakers Guild Member Kit Carson began making his little custom F4 knife design a while back, and it has proven so popular he can\'t keep up with orders. So he called us and talked about how we at CRKT could translate it into a faithful production version, and even add a few wrinkles, like a custom injection molded Zytel® Sheath. Our design and production engineers went to work, and here it is.

With an overall length of just 5.5 in. the F4 is still a rugged cutting tool capable of a wide variety of chores. We added molded contoured and textured Zytel scales, plus control friction grooves top and bottom, to make this little gem comfortable and safe to use.

The full tang blade is tough AUS 6M stainless steel in bead blast finish, providing a durable cutting edge. Models are available with Razor-Sharp and Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated Cutting Edges.

When translating Kit\'s custom sheath to a production design, we took advantage of the special capabilities of an injection molded Zytel sheath. Our innovative design features a 180 degree instantly reversible and removable pocket/gear clip, plus holes and slots, all of which allow a wide range of carry positions inside or outside of trousers, on belts, webbing, backpacks, or securely fixed to the lash tabs of personal flotation jackets.

For maximum utility, we also include a black neck chain, plus a tied black nylon lanyard fob for added effective handle length and control.

This is about as cool and friendly as a personal work knife gets, and best of all, we have given it a suggested retail price which is just as inviting as the knife system itself.

About Columbia River
Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT) is a Wilsonville, Oregon-based manufacturer of quality knives and tools founded in 1994. The Columbia River Knife catalog has grown and is divided into two categories, Sport and Work Knives, intended for the general public; and Professional Knives, designed for the military, law enforcement, fire department, search and rescue and other emergency services personnel. Founders, Rod Bremer and Paul Gillespie commented on the Columbia River Knife & Tool's rapid growth in the highly competitive cutlery industry: "We began with the vision of offering top quality knives at affordable prices to give the highest possible value," said Gillespie. Fortunately, because we were starting with a blank sheet of paper, we could make the new designs we wanted from the optimum materials, using the latest high tech manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, injection molding and fine blanking. Before packing and shipping each Columbia River Knife & Tool knife, it is inspected for defects in materials and workmanship, the lock and cutting edge are checked, it is opened and closed to assure smoothness of action, and it is lubricated and adjusted if needed. All Columbia River Knife & Tool knives are built incorporating the most advanced equipment and production systems available, and quality is controlled from beginning to end. Knives are built the way they should be built without compromising quality in any part of their creation. Columbia River Knife & Tool accessories are crafted to the same standards as the knives, so that each sheath, for example, lives up to the customers high expectations.
