Pat and Wes Crawford of Crawford Knives in West Memphis, Arkansas, offer a number of compact fixed blades on the Falcon theme. Our production collaboration is more than a cute little neck knife it is the most utilitarian small fixed work blade we\'ve ever built.
Here\'s a very affordable knife that offers a comfortable grip, a wide blade that will hold an edge, and excellent balance. That makes it a perfect toolbox and workshop utility knife, in addition to being a lightweight personal carry.
The full tang blade is AUS 6M stainless steel in a satin finish. Injection molded black Zytel® scales are textured for grip. Zytel is noted for its ability to resist the oils and solvents found in every shop. Skeletonizing not only saves weight, but the holes further improve the ability to grip the Fixed Falcon.
The secret to this knife\'s usefulness is in its handle shape. It is thinnest at the balance point, resulting in a comfortable finger choil and thumb ramp that allow you to maneuver the knife with thumb and forefinger. There is a swell to fit the palm, and a subtle butt pommel. Most important, the handle is long enough to fill the average hand.
A hole at the pommel allows attachment of a thong or lanyard.
Blade shape is a modified drop point with a false edge typical of the Crawford style, available in both Razor-Sharp or Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point? Serrated edges.
The custom injection molded Zytel sheath features a snap-on J-clip, which gives secure in-trouser carry by reaching over the waistband and under the belt. The clip can be reversed for left or right hand use. Remove the J-clip and you have a handy neck knife, complete with a black chain. The Fixed Falcon locks firmly in the sheath, allowing secure inverted carry.
It\'s a small knife, but a big value. And it?s a knife that you will put to use daily.

About Columbia River
Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT) is a Wilsonville, Oregon-based manufacturer of quality knives and tools founded in 1994. The Columbia River Knife catalog has grown and is divided into two categories, Sport and Work Knives, intended for the general public; and Professional Knives, designed for the military, law enforcement, fire department, search and rescue and other emergency services personnel.
Founders, Rod Bremer and Paul Gillespie commented on the Columbia River Knife & Tool's rapid growth in the highly competitive cutlery industry: "We began with the vision of offering top quality knives at affordable prices to give the highest possible value," said Gillespie. Fortunately, because we were starting with a blank sheet of paper, we could make the new designs we wanted from the optimum materials, using the latest high tech manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, injection molding and fine blanking.
Before packing and shipping each Columbia River Knife & Tool knife, it is inspected for defects in materials and workmanship, the lock and cutting edge are checked, it is opened and closed to assure smoothness of action, and it is lubricated and adjusted if needed.
All Columbia River Knife & Tool knives are built incorporating the most advanced equipment and production systems available, and quality is controlled from beginning to end. Knives are built the way they should be built without compromising quality in any part of their creation. Columbia River Knife & Tool accessories are crafted to the same standards as the knives, so that each sheath, for example, lives up to the customers high expectations.
