Product Description:
Kit Carson, Knifemakers Guild Member, and designer of the M16 Series, designs for function, not fad. Heft any M16 and you?ll know what that means. For example, wide blade design for multiple and difficult tasks. Sure-grip contoured handles of 6061 T6 hard anodized charcoal gray aluminum with a perimeter radius for a comfortable grip with or without work gloves. A stainless steel locking liner with friction grooves, for positive locking with limited access, for superior safety. AUS 8 stainless steel blades, chosen for edge retention and durability, in non-reflective frost finish. Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges for rugged cutting tasks that break down standard cutting edges.

All models feature the Carson Flipper extension to the blade, which aids opening and acts as an additional blade guard.

The M16-14 Big Dog is a hefty, full-size working knife with a modified dual grind Tanto-style blade.

The M16-13 has a slim profile design that is ideal for a variety of carry positions. It features a spear point blade with a false grind on the top edge.

The M16-12 is a little bulldog with a powerful Tanto-style dual grind blade, packing a lot of power in a compact package.

One-hand opening and closing is velvet smooth, the result of Teflon bearings at the blade pivot. The ambidextrous thumb studs with checkered surface provide instant access in any circumstance. Every model features a removable Teflon plated stainless steel clothing/gear clip.

These knives also incorporate the patented Lake And Walker Knife Safety (LAWKS) into all three M16 models, which converts them into virtual fixed blades when engaged.

All models of the M16 Series are perfectly balanced, and every detail has a working purpose.

About Columbia River
Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT) is a Wilsonville, Oregon-based manufacturer of quality knives and tools founded in 1994. The Columbia River Knife catalog has grown and is divided into two categories, Sport and Work Knives, intended for the general public; and Professional Knives, designed for the military, law enforcement, fire department, search and rescue and other emergency services personnel. Founders, Rod Bremer and Paul Gillespie commented on the Columbia River Knife & Tool's rapid growth in the highly competitive cutlery industry: "We began with the vision of offering top quality knives at affordable prices to give the highest possible value," said Gillespie. Fortunately, because we were starting with a blank sheet of paper, we could make the new designs we wanted from the optimum materials, using the latest high tech manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, injection molding and fine blanking. Before packing and shipping each Columbia River Knife & Tool knife, it is inspected for defects in materials and workmanship, the lock and cutting edge are checked, it is opened and closed to assure smoothness of action, and it is lubricated and adjusted if needed. All Columbia River Knife & Tool knives are built incorporating the most advanced equipment and production systems available, and quality is controlled from beginning to end. Knives are built the way they should be built without compromising quality in any part of their creation. Columbia River Knife & Tool accessories are crafted to the same standards as the knives, so that each sheath, for example, lives up to the customers high expectations.
