Not only is black the most popular color in knives in recent years, but it has real functional value. It is less reflective and creates a protective barrier against corrosion. So it is only natural that we would offer Knifemakers Guild Member and K.I.S.S. designer \\\'Daddy K.I.S.S.\\\' Ed Halligan\\\'s creations in black dress. Today\\\'s technology allows the blade, frame and clip to receive a special Teflon® plating that is tough and long lasting.
K.I.S.S.® stands for \\\'Keep It Super Simple.\\\' It\\\'s one honey of a knife, precision fine blanked for superior fit and smooth operation. Ed Halligan\\\'s unique two-piece construction features an integral Frame Lock, and a breakthrough design which seals the cutting edge against the handle. Blade and frame are AUS 6M stainless steel.
A thumb stud is used to one-hand open the blade, and as the blade is fully rotated open, the Frame Lock snaps crisply in behind the blade to guarantee a sound lock-up. The blade can be closed with one hand, simply by releasing the Frame Lock.
The P.E.C.K. in the Dark (or Precision Engineered Compact Knife) is Ed\\\'s baby, weighing less than 1 oz. and only 2.7 inches long when closed. Just think of it as a sweet little K.I.S.S. When open, the graceful 1.88? Razor-Sharp Wharncliffe blade is a high performance cutting tool suited for hundreds of daily tasks.
The design of the K.I.S.S. series pocket/money clip permits them to be used in a variety of ways: clipped to the pocket; as a money clip knife; and with split-ring or lanyard, as a key chain knife.
This new series has demonstated instant appeal to law enforcement, the military and to those who just like its cool look.

About Columbia River
Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT) is a Wilsonville, Oregon-based manufacturer of quality knives and tools founded in 1994. The Columbia River Knife catalog has grown and is divided into two categories, Sport and Work Knives, intended for the general public; and Professional Knives, designed for the military, law enforcement, fire department, search and rescue and other emergency services personnel.
Founders, Rod Bremer and Paul Gillespie commented on the Columbia River Knife & Tool's rapid growth in the highly competitive cutlery industry: "We began with the vision of offering top quality knives at affordable prices to give the highest possible value," said Gillespie. Fortunately, because we were starting with a blank sheet of paper, we could make the new designs we wanted from the optimum materials, using the latest high tech manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, injection molding and fine blanking.
Before packing and shipping each Columbia River Knife & Tool knife, it is inspected for defects in materials and workmanship, the lock and cutting edge are checked, it is opened and closed to assure smoothness of action, and it is lubricated and adjusted if needed.
All Columbia River Knife & Tool knives are built incorporating the most advanced equipment and production systems available, and quality is controlled from beginning to end. Knives are built the way they should be built without compromising quality in any part of their creation. Columbia River Knife & Tool accessories are crafted to the same standards as the knives, so that each sheath, for example, lives up to the customers high expectations.
