| Product Description: |
The 10-inch Trailmaker® is an awesome performer. It effortlessly severs a free-hanging two-inch manila rope in one quick stroke, clear a trail and cut firewood. The convex ground blade is hand honed to a razor edge that has to be used to be appreciated.
By todays standards, this is a massive knife. Webster Marble began production of the Model 56 Trailmaker in late 1908 or early 1909. About 25,000 were made between 1909 and 1958, including some 7-inch versions during the 1950s. The 7-inch and 10-inch Trailmakers are laser cut from solid bars of high carbon 5160M steel and subjected to a complicated multi-step process for proper heat treat and temper. This costly process ensures maximum edge holding, removes all traces of brittleness for strength and minimizes warpage. The jigged bone handle features brass spacers, fiber washers, brass guard and aluminum pommel. This knife come with a leather belt sheath. |
